Halloween

This year for Halloween our ward had a trunk or treat on Saturday.  I told the kids that this year I wasn't going to buy any costumes - they had to be creative.  Major has been studying the civil war in school and  decided to be a union officer.  I thought it looked really good, but he was disappointed that people thought he was a policeman or a mailman.  I told him to tell everyone that he was Major Brown!  ha ha!
Lucy told everyone she was Bloody Mary - whatever that was.
Juliette had plans to be a doctor, but never bothered to change out of her soccer uniform, from that mornings game, so she just went as a soccer player.  Carol was at her cast party, so she didn't dress up other than put on a cowboy hat.  She had so much fun!

Little Women

This week Carol had her performances for Little Women.  She was in the ensemble and also had a solo as a hag.  She enjoyed doing this so much.  She has been begging me for years to be in a play, so I am so glad she finally had the opportunity.  She is hoping to do a lot more.

New Addition

Major has been trying to get his Reptile Merit Badge so we now have three new tortoises at our house.  We borrowed a huge one for a month that lived outside.  We thought he was so easy, we decided to try some babies.  They are really cute!  We will move them outside when they get a little bigger.

Quebec 2010

For fall break we went to Quebec.  We had a little trouble getting there, but we finally made a flight to Albany, New York.  We drove through the Adirondack Mountains to Quebec City.  We stayed two nights in the fabulous Chateau Frontenac (the castle).  I love Quebec City!  It feels so European.  We got pretty good at figuring out all the French signs.  The weather was beautiful!  All the locals kept commenting on how nice the weather was.  We were very fortunate!

Then we drove down to Montreal for one night on our way back to Albany.  We didn't get to see much of Montreal, so I guess we will just have to go back!  Here is a little slideshow of our trip.

General Conference

This year we were able to go to General Conference because Juliette was 8 years old.  We had tickets to two of the sessions.  It was a great experience being there in person.  I hope we can make it a tradition.

Soccer

Major made the Desert Ridge Junior High soccer team.  Only about six 7th graders made the team.  Their team is really good.  Major doesn't get to play as much as he would like, but he still enjoys it!

Lucy and Juliette are also playing soccer with AYSO.  They enjoy playing and getting treats after the game.
