My mom had the most fun birthday party. It was with extended family that we don't see often. We had a huge pot luck and an awesome D.J.
Carol, Clint and Major sang "Dust in the Wind."Mom and dad impressed us with their jitterbug.
The kids loved doing line dancing! It was so much fun!

The Priesthood -

Today Clint got a new calling. He is the 2nd councilor in the Bishopric. We are happy for him, but sad to not get to sit by him at church any more. When he went to sit on the stand, Carol pointed out that our family didn't take much room on the bench. She sadly said, "we are so small now." We will be even smaller in January when Major can help with the sacrament. But at least that isn't for the whole meeting!

Last Day of Fall Break

Today we visited Superstition Farm. Carol has been volunteering there every Saturday for the last month or so. She loves working with the animals. The owners are glad to have her and tell me that she is a great worker. The kids loved feeding the animals and taking a hayride and learning about the cows. Carol enjoys working at the milk bar. She stirs in the flavors of what people order - lime, chocolate, strawberry, grape, peach, butterscotch, pistachio, orange, cherry, banana, melon and raspberry. Carol knew all 12 flavors! That evening we visited their ice cream store in Gilbert called Udder Delights and had some delicious ice cream.

Day 5 of Fall Break

Today Major and Lucy went ice skating. I couldn't talk Carol and Juliette into trying, so we all just sat and froze to death! Major and Lucy loved it and did really well. fterwards we found a park and sat in the sun until we thawed! It took me the longest to get warm! That is why I live in Arizona!

Day 4 of Fall Break

Today we went to the Olive Mill in Queen Creek. The grounds were very beautiful and the weather was perfect. We ate some gelato and took the tour. We should have come for lunch. It was interesting to learn how they make olive oil.

Day 3 of Fall Break

Today we went to the Biosphere 2. My friend and I took the boys that are working on the gardening merit badge. I think it was even better than the last time we went which was about 3 years ago. I recommend it! Biosphere in the background. The Rain Forest. Darin took the girls and they had fun going to the movies and eating ice cream in Old Town Scottsdale.

Day 2 of Fall Break

This was a very busy day! In the morning I went to the funeral of my uncle Steve. It was a wonderful service. I regret not knowing him better. Then we took all the cousins to Amazing Jake's for lunch and dinner. They had a blast! Then they all went to spend the night at the Moyer's. They had so much fun! It was almost too much!

Day 1 of Fall Break

We started Fall Break off with Sunday dinner at Grandma Brown's house. I made a cupcake cake and it turned out better than the first time I made it. On Monday Carol and Perry worked on their service hours and made bears and hats for the humanitarian effort in our ward. They got a lot made! Then we went to dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe. I have to say that since Carol went vegan, and I try, nothing on the menu sounded appetizing. I didn't even order anything! It all had tons of meat and was very greasy! The kids liked it. Afterwards we went to Lee Lee Market and then ate lots of ice cream!
