After surgery
Thursday Lucy had her ear surgery. It ended up being more than we thought, but we are glad it is behind us. The Doctor was just going to patch her eardrum with tissue from her mouth. But he ended up replacing the whole thing with a muscle from behind her ear. We had to stay in recovery for hours because she kept vomiting. She was miserable. She was miserable all day Friday. Saturday morning she jumped up and said she felt fine. I did give her pain medication once, but she seems to be fine. They shaved her hair around her ear and she had a huge snarl that I finally just had to cut off. It looked like her hair was just melted together. She is going to need a haircut to fix all that stuff. I’m glad she is feeling normal. I have to remind her to take it easy and not jump around so much. I don’t want her to damage anything. Her ear canal is full of blood and she still has some swelling. We can’t get the yellow stuff off her face that they must swab on before surgery.

Battle of the Books
Major had Battle of the Books. His team did really well, but not first place like he hoped. This was just round one, so they could still win. He also had his last soccer game. They won. They only lost one game during the season and that was when two key players were missing and they played the only other tough team. They had a really good team. It’s always fun to be on the winning team. Major is getting really good. He always played defense. He was a valuable player. The other team always seemed to score when it was his quarter to sit out. He hated to watch that.
